We're co-hosting a networking happy hour with Chicago+Acumen!

Chicago+Acumen (C+A) is a volunteer-led chapter of the global Acumen network, comprised of a diverse group of creative and dedicated local leaders. C+A engages, inspires, and connects passionate individuals and organizations that believe in using market-based solutions to solve some of the world's biggest problems, fostering dignity rather than dependence. To this end, the organization holds content-driven conversations and networking events, showcases local social enterprises, builds community, and partners with impact-driven organizations in Chicago. With a mission that is so aligned with ours, we're excited to be able to offer a co-hosted happy hour with them so our communities can meet! Learn more about C+A here.

We're honored to also be joined by special guest Alisa Roadcup, Executive Director of Heshima Kenya. Heshima Kenya is a nonprofit organization operating in Nairobi, Kenya, and is the first organization in Kenya devoted to protecting unaccompanied and separated refugee children and youth, with a special focus in supporting women and girls ages 13 to 23 years old from Somalia, Ethiopia, DR Congo, Sudan, Rwanda, and Burundi. Heshima Kenya provides shelter, education, vocational training, case management support, and advocacy to participants and their children who have experienced the detrimental effects of war. Heshima Kenya is actually Chicago-grown and social enterprise is baked into their model -- we've invited Alisa to meet you all to share the Heshima Kenya story.
