Good food and food growing skills are too important to be left to Industrial/ Big Ag companies alone!
Our friends at the award-winning nonprofit Urban Growers’ Collective are hosting tours throughout July of the urban farm at Grant Park in Downtown Chicago. Established in 2005, in partnership with the Chicago Park District, this farm is located near Buckingham Fountain. The farm serves as a prime example of local urban agriculture and innovative youth programming. Teens from across the city will share more information about Urban Growers Collective’s work and how they grow an abundance of vegetables, culinary herbs and edible flowers in a beautiful and productive way throughout the summer.
Net Impact Chicago community members plan to attend the Friday July 28, 5 PM tour. Join us then! Please RSVP directly to the organizers here, and look for the folks wearing a Net Impact logo button! If desired, we can then adjourn to a nearby spot for bites and beverages or take in another adjacent free event. Early arrival is recommended.
